Why does PAPYRUS sit in the same grid as the RENAISSANCE?

Because they belong to the same subject and nothing else. Scribes were writing on papyrus thousands of years before a Florentine workshop opened, which is the point of the puzzle.

What does FEUDAL mean?

A system where land was held in return for service rather than bought. A king granted land to lords, lords to knights, and the people who farmed it never owned it.
