Basketball was invented in 1891 by James Naismith, who nailed two peach baskets to the balcony of a gym in Massachusetts. Most Olympic curling stones are cut from granite quarried on Ailsa Craig, a small island off the coast of Scotland. Both sports are in this grid with 33 others. The trap is in the endings: six sports end in ball, three end in athlon, and eleven end in ing, so the same letter runs show up all over the grid and point you the wrong way.
