The presidential OATH runs to thirty five words, written into the Constitution itself, and the famous closing line is not among them: presidents started adding it by custom. The rest of the job is in this word find too, from the CABINET that advises to the VETO that stops a bill, and the SUCCESSION rules nobody thinks about until they matter.

Frequently asked questions
What does a VETO actually do?
It sends a bill back to Congress unsigned. Congress can override it, but that takes a two thirds vote in both chambers, which is why most vetoes hold.
What is the INAUGURAL address for?
It is the speech after the oath, setting out what the term is meant to be about. The shortest ran four minutes, the longest close to two hours.
