George Washington Word Search, free printable PDF preview

George Washington is the only president elected with every electoral vote, and he did it twice, in 1789 and 1792. Before that he was a SURVEYOR in VIRGINIA, then the GENERAL who held the CONTINENTAL Army together through the winter at Valley Forge. This george washington word find gathers eleven words from that life, from the crossing of the DELAWARE to the FAREWELL address; the us presidents grid covers the office itself.

Frequently asked questions

Did he really chop down a CHERRY tree?

No. The story was invented by Parson Weems in a biography published after Washington's death in 1799, to teach honesty. It stuck because it was a good story.

Why is MOUNTVERNON in the grid?

It was his Virginia estate on the Potomac, where he farmed between the REVOLUTION and the presidency, and where news of his UNANIMOUS election reached him in 1789.
