Find these words
Newton's first law says a moving object keeps going in a straight line at the same SPEED unless a force acts on it. That is why a hockey puck glides so far on ice: there is very little FRICTION to slow it down. This word find collects eleven words from an elementary forces unit, from PUSH and PULL to BALANCED forces. The physics grid on the site goes further, into momentum and velocity.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between BALANCED and UNBALANCED forces?
BALANCED forces cancel out, like two teams pulling equally in a tug of war, so nothing changes. UNBALANCED forces change an object's SPEED or DIRECTION.
What grade is this for?
Third to fifth grade. The Next Generation Science Standards introduce forces, motion and magnets in third grade. It is easy, so words only run across and down.
